California Matters

In partnership with the Berkeley Food Institute, New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman created a 10-part webseries entitled “California Matters” revolving around the California food system. His first episode involves Bittman exploring Oakland with two UC Berkeley researchers, Philip Stark and Tom Carlson, discussing edible weeds. Bittman explains that in the remaining episodes: “I ranged throughout the state, talking to people about issues in food, from labor rights to pesticide exposure, the history of Chinese-American cooking, ocean acidification, and more.”
