Where I work
Neil Thapar is a staff attorney at Sustainable Economies Law Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide legal education, research, advice, and advocacy to support more just and resilient local economies. Neil represents clients and provides legal advice to community-based entrepreneurs and organizations, specializing in food and agricultural legal issues. Neil has been in awe of the power of seeds ever since he spent a season apprenticing on an agroecological farm in 2012, where he spent much of his time in the greenhouses taking care of the seedlings that eventually filled the acres of fields with tons of fresh produce. He holds a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture for completing the apprenticeship, earned his B.A. in Economics and International Area Studies from UCLA, and his J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law. He now saves seeds on a small urban community garden plot in San Francisco, CA.
