A fourth year student attending Sonoma state University working towards my Bachelors in environmental studies with an emphasis on Conservation Restoration, and a minor in biology. I have devoted my time and career to the preservation and restoration of native habitats throughout the west coast. I have completed two major internships that focused around preserving local habitats in Southern California and in the state of Washington. Both dealt with reducing noxious weeds and restoring previously degraded habitat. I was trained to educate numerous groups of young adolescents and adults on how to re-establish ecosystems through horticulture and restoration techniques. In another internship position I worked as a native plant landscaper in public and private areas which allowed me to develop a deep understanding of horticulture that is continuing to progress. During this internship I also did substantial surveys along Washington’s Nooksack and surrounding rivers to find and remove a species of noxious knotweed that has had devastating effects on the local riparian habitat and the salmon populations. I am currently interning at the Lexicon of Sustainability helping to develop the site and food list.
