Lisa Trocchia-Baļķīts is Scholar-in-Residence at Green Mountain College in Vermont, USA, where she teaches and designs courses for the graduate program in Sustainable Food Systems. As an interdisciplinary scholar, Dr. Trocchia-Baļķīts concentrates on political philosophy, sociology, communication studies, economic anthropology, and the study of networks and complex adaptive systems in a food systems context. Her primary interests are located in the spaces were food and social change intersect. She researches and writes about the diverse economies of bioregional food systems, the performance of cultural foodways, and examines self-organized, community-based food system social networks as sites of radical and transformative social change.
