Integrated Plant Management
Integrated Plant Management refers to the management of crop varieties and planting times for the purpose of suppressing weeds. Weed management for organic growers involves a variety of techniques and often includes integrated planting and the use of plastic mulch. Weed removal by hand is a costly and labor intensive practice. Instead, intercropping (planting crops in between row crops), and utilizing green manure can contribute to weed suppression and break regular weed growth cycles.
