Will Land Tenure save community gardens?

Jeffrey Yuen's Colombia University Architecture and Planning Masters thesis explores the viability of land trusts and other land use arrangements for securing land for urban community gardens. Land insecurity remains one of the largest obstacles to success for many community gardens, and establishing structures of tenureship that increase land security are essential as more communities look towards community gardens for their economic, environmental, and social benefits.
