Counter Culture Coffee: Direct Trade Certification

Counter Culture Coffee, based in Durham, North Carolina, created its own Direct Trade Certification.

Coffee enthusiasts are beginning to catch on to direct trade as it promotes a personal connection with coffee farmers, "builds trust and lays the groundwork for long-term, mutually supportive relationships that allow us to work together with growers to improve cup quality." Their certification also encourage ecological sustainability and social responsibility.
