Definition of Restoration

Restoration is returning something – a place, a thing, or a person – to a former owner, place, or condition. Environmental restoration is the process of restoring the environment to what it once was, often before degradation from humans. Examples of environmental restoration include cleaning waste and runoff from a river, converting agricultural land back to it's original praire, or reintroducing wolves to Yellowstone National Park to achieve species balance.
